We actually tried the first try not with fries, but with eggplant. These are nicely marinated beforehand (with very little oil, herbs and spices) and then put in the AirFryer using the automatic fries mode. And surprise: after 18 minutes we had eggplants that were crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft and aromatic on the inside. I've never succeeded so well in the oven and I always had to use significantly more fat.
The French fries test, which is probably the most important area of application for most. I put about 500 grams in the basket and switched on the automatic mode in the app again. After 18 minutes they weren't crispy enough and we added another 5 minutes. Then really tasty, reduced-fat fries that were nice and crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. So again a success.
