Ordered this new product from MINIX and is working great so far. I was using another adapter before but I liked the concept of bundling together the external storage with the adapter so ordered this one. The product looks sturdy and is working well with my Macbook Pro. I am also using this with my Thinkpad as an adapter and is working like a charm. This comes with a good quality nice little storage bag as well.
I waited to write this until I had really put this unit to work. It works great, does everything it says, quickly, quietly, with no drivers or anything needed. It is well built and seems to stand up well to my constant moving about. I own a variety of USB-C adapters and this works as well or better than most, plus the onboard storage is handy. I wish it also had an RJ-445 Network connector, though that would make it a bit bigger. so perhaps that was the decision. I own a couple of other Minix components and find them all very nicely built and configured. I would reccomend this to anyone needing this connectivity.
This is my honest review of MINIX.I've been using minix usb-c hub for a long time, but It always bothers me that I need to bring external hard drives all the time. Now I don't have to bring the usb or external hard drives anymore.Also, there is no heating issue at all while using.So far I like this product.
I love the construction and the color accuracy of the NEO sitting along-side my space-grey MacBook Pro. The unit is actually replacing an external SSD drive that has a removable cable. The connector within my old drive is coming loose and when I bump the drive, it disconnects from my MacBook. You could imagine that while I am developing software on virtual machines on that drive, that disconnecting during mid-development is a horrible way to work. I do not have this problem with the MINIX NEO Storage.I have confidently packed the NEO into my backpack to remote work from several locations and not had to worry about the NEO connection becoming fouled up by being bounced around in my pack.I think the connector on the NEO was thoughtfully designed and I like the sturdy fixed connector on the drive itself. When using peripherals through the USB ports, I've had no problems and projecting my screen through the HDMI port is flawless. This is definitely a must-have companion to your Macbook Pro purchase.
